Current version is administratively too demanding for a volunteer organisation
Treatment system
20. This proposed Acceptable Solution for Spring and Bore Drinking Water Supplies has been prepared based on a centralised treatment solution. Do you think the proposed Acceptable Solution would be more effective if it was based on an end-point treatment system rather than a central treatment plant?

A single point treatment option is not feasible for our scheme. End-point treatment is the only viable solution for treatment of our bore water.
NB: Out bore terminates in an underground artesian aquifer. The water has been age tested at 38 years.

Current installation and testing shows compliance with 6.1 and 6.2.
Further, water quality and ageing test show additional treatment (uv, chlorination) is NOT necessary. Additionally, each connection point is fitted with backflow protection.

PPWS as set-up and operated is successful and safe. Central/single point treatment is not appropriate.

Our scheme is run by vounteers and requirements under section 7 are overly adminstratively onerous and totally off-putting for members of our community.
Our mission is to supply safe, good quality drinking water, NOT to be encumbered with administrative tasks.

Auditing must be relevant to a particular scheme. One size does not fit all.

Additional feedback:
PPWS Inc would like to develop a pragmatic working relationship with Tauamata Arowai and believe that requirements must be relevant to our volunteer based scheme.
